I love the last line of the ruling:

"We are a better people than what these laws represent, and it is time to discard them into the ash heap of history."

Congratulation to Pennsylvania's LGBT community.... I must admit I didn't think it would happen this soon, not in PA. Very Exciting.

The majority of Pennsylvanians DID approve of same-sex marriage, as per recent polling. The problem? This wasn't appropriately represented in a state legislature or state executive office, both of which are dominated by conservatives from areas outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, our state's two economic powerhouses.

I didn't think it would happen this fast, either. But public opinion has changed so fast that it was inevitable. It could not have happened without the support of straight allies, who saw the injustice in it. Most people have gay family members who they love and want to have the same rights as everyone else.

Allegheny County will begin accepting applications online for same-sex marriage licenses today.

I literally just cried I'm so emotional right now. Growing up I was led to believe by my church that I was doomed to Hell, led to believe by my parents that I was a "black sheep", and struggled with such low self-esteem and depression, thinking I didn't belong anywhere in society, that I attempted suicide. I was bullied by several people in high school and college for being different, despite my pleas that my sexual orientation wasn't a choice but was inherent to me.

My heterosexual counterparts helping to serve as ALLIES were crucial towards securing today's ruling, and I can't thank them enough! So many people think only about "how do the parts fit together"' rather than looking at the fact that they've been ostracizing and tormenting people psychologically for generations for being created differently. Did Christian bigots ever once stop to think that maybe there seems to be more prevalence of homosexuality today than ever before because God sees our planet becoming overpopulated while many children are going unloved and has decided to step in to curb the birth rate so we don't kill ourselves off and so loving and financially-capable same-sex couples can adopt otherwise unwanted children?

You might be taking it a bit far there, methinks ..... But I do wonder how stupid folks like Bill O'Reilly feel when they said same sex marriage is the first step to being able to marry your pet. Geez ...

Get out and celebrate!!!
