I'm excited about Busy Beaver opening in the East End. There used to be one next to the Waterworks where the Get Go is now located. I thought the entire company went out of business. I had no idea there were stores located elsewhere in Pittsburgh. Lowes and Home Depot might have a larger selection, but we got some great deals at Busy Beaver.

We shop at one occasionally because it is close. It really isn't anything special but it is nice to have it close.

I'm really surprised by this. I never thought anything retail would go there.

Did they get the idea for the name from Beaver County? Lots of stuff out there named for Beavers. I like it!

Did I miss the part where this thread devolved into sexual innuendo or did Yac just get here before I did?

We had a Busy Beaver on Fox Chapel Road/Freeport Road. I restored two homes right up in the Borough and I tried to use the Busy Beaver, but they NEVER had everything I needed. Much of the time they had about 50%. I started driving to Home Depot because they actually had what I needed. Not a fan of Busy Beaver, but maybe if you just need a little something I guess it might be okay. I prefer a good hardware store to that place.

Right, and a lot of their stuff (tools, etc) is low quality. But still not bad if you need something quick and it's a common item. They are the KMart of home improvement.

My experience matches what Curtis described. Busy Beaver always didn't have at least one thing I was there to get. I don't recall the last time I was in one before a couple of months ago. I was helping my sister out with some stuff, and we went to the one in Crafton. (I was frankly surprised to find they were still in business.) They did have everything we needed, and the staff was helpful.
