Won't they come up Bigelow Blvd? That's how I go from the airport to East Liberty. They might never intersect with something going on in Oakland.

I don't know. They didn't tell me. I also don't know where Noll is being buried.

I'm sure that is the way that you travel from the airport to East Lib, but you probably don't travel in a long motorcade.

Clearing a trip through downtown streets to get to the Bigelow wouldn't be that tidy.

Taking a chopper from the port would seem to be a tidier proposition, which is what was done for the West Mifflin trip a few months ago.

They will most likely use the busways. Heck even the police can use them let alone a motorcade with the president in tow. The busway goes directly to Bakery Square.

Obama, or any Democrat for that matter, has the City of Pittsburgh vote sewn-up before
even setting a foot in town. From a political standpoint it would make a lot more sense for
him to be in some swing state.

The traffic problems and other issues are just an unavoidable part of the security situation whenever a
President travels. Even those of us who don't agree with him on very much would never, ever want
to see anything tragic happen to him or to his family. Patience!

They probably did use the busway - saw an official-looking vehicle with flashing lights sitting on the Aiken Avenue bridge over the busway around 12:15.

I did not express any issues with the traffic problems caused by a presidential visit. After all, we endured the DNC here! Politicians, all of them, always have an ulterior motive to these visits. You can be sure it's not just to look at the place.
