Greetings everyone, my husband will be moving to start work in Moon Township and we are looking for a safe, family friendly neighborhood near Moon Township. Does Moon fit this description? We have an 8 month old and I know it is never too early to start thinking of being in a neighborhood in a good school district. Quick access to grocery shopping, malls, and parks. We will be renting for a year prior to buying. Thank you for your help in advance.

I think Moon fits the bill. The park there is pretty phenomenal for little ones. You are also a quick drive to Robinson via the back entrance near Costco (no traffic). Schools are good and the housing stock looks very nice, provided you are OK with newer subdivisions.

Yes. Moon Township is most certainly a very fine place to raise a family. My only complaint would be the lack of the community having a defined "town center", as it is really just mile after mile of newer housing subdivisions, gas stations, parking lots, chain restaurants, office buildings, etc. It would be nice if a developer would bring one of those mixed-use "live/work/play" joints to Moon Township with a few stores, restaurants, movie theater, condos, an ice skating rink, fountains, etc. all mashed together on one property.

Moon is nice. Avoid moon crest area. A little farther out is robinson with montour schools, and collier with chartiers valley schools.

Settlers Ridge and Robinson are a quick drive away. I'm not sure if there is additional demand in the area for another major shopping center. I'd say Moon is akin to some of the northern suburbs that are strictly residential in nature and share one common shopping district (McKnight).

Moon is a short drive to Robinson as well as to the Beaver Valley Mall outside Monaca. There probably just isn't the need for it.
