I found one market a year back. It was easier and cheaper to order online.

There's at least 3 decent Asian markets on Penn Ave on the Strip. We tend to use the one near Wholley's most. It has an excellent selection of Asian ingredients/foodstuffs. There's also one on Smallman that I ride past but haven't been in. It always seems to have lots of cars out front.

Getting a good range of quality Asian ingredients is not hard in Pittsburgh.

Jimmy Wan's in Fox Chapel has it.

As a teen, I sometimes hung out at my friend's family's Chinese restaurant. When they closed on Fridays, the cooks made up food that wasn't on the menu and everyone sat and ate that If you have a Chinese restaurant you like, you could ask if they'll do it off menu.

I agree with the suggestions of Asian markets in Strip. The one near Wholeys some fresh items/veggies that you can't easily get at regular local grocers.

Interestingly, if all restaurants shortcut, it becomes acceptable dining.
That's probably true for any Chinese place in Pittsburgh. However, restaurants in bona fide Chinatowns that specialize in Peking duck are another story entirely.

Now I'm craving Peking duck!

Silk Elephant on Murray ave in Squirrel Hill is also good. I have only been there once but would definitely do it again. The Crispy duck salad is delicious.
