Why do you always make threads when something happens in East Liberty? You don't do this when violence happens in other places.

I was just dropping off some stuff at my new house in Morningside and heard sirens in the distance. I wonder if the noise traveled that far.

most people tend to be concerned when violent crime happens consistently where they live, shop and work

Two really long blocks.

But what would you like the city to do? This incident occurred in a residential portion of EL near the border of Highland Park. It seems to have nothing to do with any of the shopping, dining or entertainment activities in the area.

Shootings always occur for a reason, the reason for this one is unknown at the present point in time.

This might not even have been a crime, it could have just been an accident.

The investigation hasn't been completed yet.

Another shooting? Seems like quite a year in Pittsburgh. Always hate to hear about the countless shootings especially in areas I ride my bike all the time. I just missed that shooting at Peabody's football field. Rode my bike by there just before or after that. Can't remember, but it was close. Could have been shot! Of course many on here would be dancing in the streets. lol

***I have a gut feeling that this thread is going to get unnecessary out of control. Let's remember anyone can blog about whatever they want (within means), it a free country right?***

At the same time, I side with anyone who would respond negatively/unimpressed regarding the validity of this thread (based on just ONE shooting and the OP's bias from previous similar threads). However CFP has an extremely valid point, East Liberty is no Squeirill Hill... Anybody who thinks East Lib is "mayberry" is a total nut!
