Looks like even more development on the North Shore...at least we are starting to get some height over there...that being said I am not a fan of of the design at all. Let’s hope it is very early in the design stage....

I just saw that! From the Post-Gazette link:
"Mr. Stabile added that the scope and size of the project can be adjusted to accommodate the needs of a tenant. He said the development would be privately funded and that he does not intend to seek government help in financing it.

"I don't think that a public investment is necessary," he said. "There are other parts of Pittsburgh that do need public investment but we already had our fair share around the two ballparks." "

Oh my! That is one ugly design, and looks totally wrong between those hotels.

Maybe they can build something similar on the other side of the highway there & put one of these in between:

Meh. My experience is that glass blocks like this tend to melt into the landscape, and usually look worse in these sorts of prospective drawings than they do in real life. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either, and I wasn't really expecting to love anything that's sandwiched between the stadium and the freeway.

A garden bridge over 279 in Deutschtown, however, would be AWESOME. Maybe it could be decorated along the lines of Randyland...

It's about time someone wants to build taller on the North Shore since those out of touch people at Continental won't.

Huh. Well I don't hate that design. It's at least not a square brick box like the rest of the North Shore.

I actually like the design. I just wish it wasn't sitting atop an above-grade parking garage and was rather above a below-grade parking garage. Nothing says "blech" for a pedestrian like walking past a parking garage, even if there are pretty towers above it.

I expected worse clicking on the thread...that's for sure. I also think the rendering is crude, so we'll see. I think the base of the towers along the sidewalk is worse than the actual towers.

I agree. Hopefully in more advanced future renderings the bottom looks better.
