Pretty cool how when the Stillers play primetime football, the national network always shows the kitchen and food being made at Primanti's.

The majority of Pittsburghers don't eat Primanti sandwiches.

I think they are pretty bland myself, and the way they are designed- their size and bulkiness, its really difficult to season the whole thing up with hot sauce and catsup, they really aren't my choice for a meal.

But that being said, a lot of people do like Primantis and they are a Pittsburgh institution, so I really can't say I hate them. And after a night of drinking a dozen beers all of that potato and bread are good for soaking up the alcohol in your system, the salt helps the eater regain his electolytes.

Are you saying the majority that eat Primanti's in Pittsburgh and it's surrounding locations aren't Pittsburghers? If so I'll certainly bet against that and look forward to seeing facts to support it.

The same could be said of most any late night eatery after a long night of drinking. It's certainly not only Primanti's where potatoes, bread, salt, etc..., are soaking up alcohol.

When was the last time you were out "late" to witness the drinking crowd soaking up alcohol at Primanti's? Did you ask them if they were locals?

During my morning run, I passed the original location in the Strip around noon and the line was at least 50 deep out the door. Granted it is most likely due to the Steelers/Ravens game this evening, but there was still a line.

I am a complete food snob but there are times when you are just in the mood for a nice good old fashioned meal that is really not good for you, and really not gonna win any James Beard awards. Nothing wrong with that. Everything does not need to be high brow. If you don’t like it that is cool, but remember Different Strokes, Different Folks. (Should really be the motto of CD Pittsburgh)

Those people all have to be from out of town. Were they holding their sandwiches with "pinky's in the air"?

It's not often that any Primanti's location isn't busy. Some times they're just busier.

It's not about being a food snob. It's overrated as a sandwich. I've eaten a lot o sandwiches in my day and one way to ruin a good sandwich is to throw a bunch of soggy fries on it, assuming you started with a good sandwich. People are free to like it but it's not good.

You can get it without fries. People do it there all the time. Some without fries and coleslaw. Not a big deal.

As the thread continues I have to remind some of you to stop confusing opinion with fact. What is "bad" for you, can be "good" for someone else. There is no need to fight over opinions, is there ? Especially since none of them are legally binding
Yac.

Seems you are clearly incorrect. If there is a line and the place is busy, it is good to many people. It doesn't matter one bit if YOU don't like it. Means nothing at all. Individual opinions are just that. One person's opinion. The place has been in business for many years and from the revenue there, they opened several locations. Plain and simple, you are wrong. Sometimes a place's success says it all. Primanti's is very successful.

agreed - I thoroughly enjoy a Primantis once or twice a year - usually at a ball game. Sometime it just hits the spot. Not exactly the sort of food I eat often, but when I do - yum
