Of course you sarcasm twists what I wrote. If you need a gallon of milk it will not make much difference. However if you take all the groceries you buy over a year, the amount spent at Giant Eagle will be much higher even with the Fuel Perks.

Speaking of extra trips to the grocery store, as it is now snowing, I should go buy bread and toilet paper. But I hate to make an extra trip when I already have extra bread, so I think I'll just use the can before leaving the office.

I don't, and am on my bike. Sq. Hill GE here I come - hopefully ...

Apologies for the sarcasm above, but there's ads on TV about how GE is dearer. It's not like its unknown to society. We go mostly because it is so convenient, and I'd bet that the money we save shopping down the Strip every week or two easily balances out the extras of shopping at GE. And at both (GE Market District anyway) we get better product selections than say Walmart.

Horses for courses, my friends ... and sometimes we get really cheap gas

I load up on groceries when I am in Ohio and Erie. I can save about a third or more on meat. Milk and dairy products are almost half as cheap in Ohio. A gallon of whole milk in Pittsburgh will run me over $4. Youngstown it is around the $2.50 mark.

Did you know there is a Milk Marketing Board in PA that sets prices?

The Milk Marketing Board sets minimum prices only, merchants can charge whatever they like as long as it is at least that much.

That's why you don't receive "fuel perks" or S&H green stamps at the grocer for your milk purchases.

Exactly. I can hop over the border and get the same product for at least $2.00 less because that state doesn't set the amount. This is why people are upset over gas prices. We are being gouged.

If you already have extra bread and it's Cellone's or Mancini's, why not just use that to wipe? It's soft and the texture should be comfortable.

I wouldn't recommend that with Mediterra or Breadworks though
