I also saw The Who in December of '79 at the Civic Arena. Pittsburgh was the opening show on their new US Tour. They played Cincinnati the very next night where 11 people got trampled to death at Riverfront Arena when the gates opened. You see, back in the 1970s, they had something called "festival seating." A lot of shows had no seats on the floor, just standing tickets sold in GA form. When the gate opened, those without reserved seats in the stands would rush the stage whenever the gates opened. There was a mad rush in Pittsburgh, but fortunately no casualties. Shortly thereafter, festival seating was phased out for indoor venues due to safety concerns.

Jeff Mangum had a solo show at Carnegie Music Hall in 2013. He came back earlier this year with Neutral Milk Hotel. Those two shows were amazing.

That solo show was amazing. Don't think I've ever been to a show where like 95% of the crowd was singing along to pretty much everything, including humming out horn lines that weren't present.

Flogging Molly opening for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones at Metropol in like 99 or 00 or something.

Avett Brothers that year they played the Arts Festival right before they exploded. There were like 50 people watching the show.

They Might be Giants wherever and whenever.

and of course Bruuuuuuuuuce!!!!!!!! when he played PNC Park.

(I'm not counting all the Star Lake shows I saw when I worked there as it's not in the city.)

Did you happen to catch them at Stage AE in October with Against Me! and Cory Branan? Fourth time seeing Gaslight and man, that band is something special. Wish I had seen them back when they were still a small band, though, back in the 59 Sound days (or earlier).

Saw The Who in 1989. Awesome. Only better concerts I've seen were some Grateful Dead shows. The tailgates were a blast. What fun times "back in the day".

Sorry, I thought a quarter century here was "BITD". How many years is "BITD"?

Oh. I didn't know 50 years was considered "BITD". I'm obviously not as old as others, here. Thanks. That explains a lot for us whippersnappers.
