Coffee is quite subjective. We do laundry every Saturday morning around 7:30 at Bloomers on Howley Street in Bloomfield. Once we put our clothes into the dryer we kill time by walking to get coffee. We walk right past Crazy Mocha and go to Starbucks. Why? I'd much prefer to support a locally-owned and -operated business (or franchise) than a Seattle-based conglomerate, but I personally prefer the taste of Seattle's Starbuck's to the taste of Pittsburgh's Crazy Mocha.

On that same line of thought if I'm looking for clothing the first place I try is American Eagle Outfitters. Not only are they Pittsburgh-based, but I also personally prefer them to their major competitors---Aeropostale, Abercrombie & Fitch, and The Gap brands. I use to like Hollister the best because they fit me better, but now in my mid-to-late-20s if I were to walk into a Hollister full of 17-year-old boys, then people would think I'm a pedophile.

I walked through his new space and it is going to be nice. The last one didn't have good seating and didn't have a bathroom. This one will have 2, seating for 30 inside and 20 outside. A bar, a bakery, espresso machine, etc. Plus there's room to expand.
a bar as in beer, wine and liquor?

Have you been to the new coffee house on Penn & Main? I think it's called Constellation?

CFP - No, a bar as in a 42" tabletop for bar stools.

SCR - try Constellation instead next time. They are on Penn near Main and her coffee is really great.

Ah! Thanks for the recommendation! I have not tried Constellation. It's next-door to the now-defunct Grateful Deli, correct? We will have to give it a shot next laundry day.

Yep, that's the one. Poor Grateful Deli. That place lasted what, 3 months?

I'm not a coffee drinker, but a sign out on Penn in Garfield indicates there is soon to be something called the Bantha Tea Bar. As both a Star Wars fan and a tea-drinker, color me intrigued.

Constellation, like Marty's Market, uses West Coast coffee (Verve, last I checked). It's very good and both places have superb barista skills. But it highlights there's a market for a much better local roaster than what we have now. Zeke's sure ain't it.

She uses Ceremony which is from the Baltimore area.

I heard grateful deli just took the WS grinders menu and changed the names. Then got sued by the franchise for doing so.
