I'm neither sheltered (having lived in the roughest neighborhoods in New York City) nor do I have an "awful memory".

I remember well, morning after morning, making police calls for KDKA to the six police zones, and night after night the almost nonstop shootings in that part of the city (Zone 5 was the worst).

And aside from this overheated real estate speculation going on in Lawrenceville, how exactly is it not depressed?

All evidence points to the contrary.

Investing in Cranberry Township real estate is more solid than investing in gold right now.

Define "depressed." Because if you find Lawrenceville "depressed" in 2015, I don't think you have the same definition as most people.

Your probably right, gold is down 30% over the past 3 1/2 years.

My point, Merge, is that while Cranberry may not be your cup of tea, to make a blanket statement of fact that it's financially irresponsible to buy there is ludicrous.

Try reading the post again. I said paying a million dollars for a home in Cranberry was financially irresponsible...

The funniest part of the Cranberry criticism is that if it was in Allegheny County there would be all but no complaints. Being across the line into Butler County brings on the criticism by many who have obviously never left the city but are okay with suburban living as long as it's in Allegheny County.
