But seriously, in my experience, guests
do gravitate to the kitchen, and always have. Maybe it has to do with growing up in a house with an eat-in kitchen, as well as a formal dining room? If most of your day to day family meals happen in the kitchen, maybe it feels more socially inviting than the other rooms? Your mileage, of course, may vary...
