We got take out from St. Mary's in Cecil last Friday. First time we'd gone there. Excellent cod and they use panko instead of small crumbs. Most impressive was it stayed hot on the drive back to USC despite single digit temps!

I went to the one at St Philip in Crafton last year. Basically cafeteria food. I don't recommend it. However, as it's a fundraiser I'd suggest you make a donation if you want to support the church and skip the fish fry. I'd love to hear reviews of other fish fries in the area.

How's the St. Raphael's? I'm intrigued by the promise of pierogies.

We've only been to maybe five or six different churches over the past decade, but I did like the fish from St. Mary's in Cecil best. This is probably heresy to most folks around Mt. Lebo, but we far prefer the food at St. Winifred's in Mt. Lebo than St. Bernards, which is one of the largest and most popular in the area. Slightly smaller menu at St. Winifred's but the fish and sides just taste better to our palates. Can't recall the others, and probably for good reason.

On the South Side, the Serbian Club on Sarah & 26th has tasty fish. Also, the Holy Angels in Hays is pretty good too.

Thanks for the tips!

Sorry, Epiphany in Uptown...I went last Wednesday and the fish (fried) and the french fries were not that great. The fish might be better baked - I think it was the skin that was not good. And, too little salt.

I might go again (its down the street from me a little) and try baked if I don't make it elsewhere.

Is the Serbian Club serving until into the evening, like 7pm or so?

For the northern suburbs I'll suggest:

St. Teresa's in Ross (Every Friday)

St. Bonaventure in Glenshaw (They only do two Fridays though, February 27 and March 27)

I've heard St. Catherine of Sweden in Hampton is good too.

Saints John and Paul is an interesting one. S&D Polish Deli is involved so beyond fried fish and fish tacos, they offer a variety of Polish dishes and sides.
