My hubby will be working at UPMC. We have 2 small girls. One will be entering Kindergarten...So keeping that in mind, we are looking to rent for a couple of years...Can you tell me if these area's are good or bad? I have found some rental properties in these area's:

Bridgeville
Jefferson Hills
Moon Twp
Cranberry Twp
Jeanette
Allison Park

Oh, and are these close UPMC (the Magee Center)?

Thanks for any info!

Dani

Magee Womens Hospital is in Oakland, a city neighborhood. All of those areas are at least a 30-45 minute drive without traffic to the hospital.

Ugh! This is so frustrating...

Thanks for the info...

Can you suggest any other area's for rentals that are semi close to this hospital?

With your girls, do you not want to be in the city? Are you looking to rent a house with a yard, rather than an apartment? Whatever you can give us will help--we on this forum love this stuff.

Just off the top of my head I'm thinking maybe the Verona/Oakmont area, for outside the city. Squirrel Hill or Regent Square for inside (both are very close to really nice city parks.)

I know its frustrating, just about a year and three months ago I was going out of my head too.

The one area that comes to mind that is very familyish and offers an exciting shopping/dinning district that is close to the hospital is Squirrel Hill.

We would love to rent a home with a yard but I am having trouble finding listings for rental homes. A townhouse or condo would be good. We don't want an apartment building. We live in one now and we just can't take it! :lol

I would love a nice little cute neighborhood that my girls can play safely in and is reasonably priced.

Out of the area's I listed above, which one is the closest to that hospital?

Right now my hubby drives 33 miles to work. He drives through Detroit (gasp) and he deals with a ton of traffic so it takes him forever. He doesn't mind the distance it is the traffic he hates...

Cranberry is the hottest area you mentioned, around 18 miles maybe one way.
