I'm from Ohio currently and my fiance is previously from Pittsburgh. We want to move back into the area, however neither of us have jobs in the Pitt. area, as we still work here in Ohio. I am concerned it may be hard to find a place over there without solid employment at the time of move in. I was just curious as to how I could go about making the move. Would explaining my situation to land lords help, or is it just a lost cause?

thanks.

When I moved into my home in Shadyside I had to provide proof of employment which was hard, because I had just taken the position and hadn't even begun working yet. Some places will make you pay six months in advance, especially the bigger name renters in town.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but one of you should get a job here before you move here. It will make things a lot easier, as moving is very expensive.
