I wonder how many jobs will be lost in Pittsburgh?

3G is all about cost cutting. The cuts at Kraft are just beginning. Their pretty suburban campus will soon be history. Fortunately for Heinz all the big cuts were done over the last couple years. Interesting that Heinz is now struggling with declining revenues. This should surprise absolutely no one as most of their top talent ($$$) was laid-off or departed for companies where they haven't removed the plants so they wouldn't have to water them.

Default Kraft Heinz to cut back further at PPG Place co-headquarters

So for those keeping track, they will have 170,000 sq ft in Downtown Chicago, and only 47,000 sq ft at their Pittsburgh "co-headquarters".

When they are no longer co-headquartered (is there a large company anywhere that truly has a co-headquarters, other than immediately after a merger), it isn't difficult to imagine where they will be headquartered. Especially considering Kraft Heinz is truly a global company and Chicago has the air service to meet those needs.

Bye, bye Heinz. They are going to be in Chicago. We can't compete with our tiny airport as I have already stated. Look at that square foot difference. We might as well tear down the old building now. I wish we would give them whatever they want if they would move here. We give colleges and hospitals a totally free ride and look at the jobs and expansion. People should take note of this obvious recipe for success. Some goes for any company. Give them whatever they want if we can keep them and expand interest here. Obviously the correct choice when going up against the likes of Chicago.

Looks like Chicago is/has been more proactive so far than the Peduto administration on the matter.

Again, just as this article points out... It WILL come down to who ponys up the Corporate Welfare..... NOT the Freaking Airports. If that was the case, why did the mayor of Chicago offer up anything at all? The Airport differences would have instantly done the bidding all by itself.

You have to hand it to the geniuses at 3G and Berkshire. They have billions to buy and sell companies like trading stamps, eliminate jobs below the bone, have employees work together at picnic tables, and they still have the chutzpah to know that they can get government handouts on top of it all! I've never seen a more entitled bunch.
