I am getting tweets from the PGH Tech Council about a redevelopment plan for Allegheny Center; renaming it to Nova Place; Innovation Works to be one of the first tenants. Can't find any news conferences though.

That is bad news. The Allegheny Center mall devastated a thriving, vital community! It is only right that the structure is removed, and the neighborhood, restored! How can that happen if the Center becomes a tech hub?

or....excellent! I love the building and am thrilled to see it put to a more productive use (finally) with higher vacancy. The PG article also stated that it will be more ped friendly connecting one side to the north side.

One of the biggest changes it will be making on the aesthetic side will be to provide a path through the complex that will serve as a bridge to Downtown and other parts of the North Side.
"No longer will this be a wall separating the North Shore from the North Side," Mayor Bill Peduto said.
Looking forward to the details

Wait a minute... are you saying Allegheny Center Mall is/was an actual Mall? I always thought the open spaces of Allegheny Center was called a mall as in a promenade (like the National Mall in DC). I've lived here for 9 years (only about 1 mile away from it) and had no idea there is/was a mall in that neighborhood. Any details/history/story behind it?
