Hi City-data viewers,

I am a decent-time lurker, and am planning my move to Pittsburgh hopefully this summer. I have been pre-approved for a $90,000 mortgage, but am looking to stay around the $75,000 range. I'm very much interested in living near South Hills Village (Bridgeville, Mt Lebanon, Upper Saint Clair) etc, but am not opposed at being a bit closer to the city as long as it's safe .

ideally, I am looking for 1 BR 1 BA Condo's that potentially allow a small pet (undecided on this part). I would not be opposed to a 2 BR spot, though.

Any suggestions on where to begin looking, or if anybody has seen some in this area at that price or am I simply out of my mind!!?

Best,
Slazz.

You can find condos in that price range in Mt. Lebanon. I don't know the names of the particular buildings, but if you do a search on Zillow they'll pop up. Mt. Lebanon, at least the center of the town, has access to the light rail line to go to the city or to South Hills Village.

How safe is Moon Township area, I see plenty of Condo's for sale in that area in my price range. It might be a little loud as it's near the airport, but that shouldn't bother me all too much!

For that budget in the South Hills, you should be looking at Brookline. No condos, but you could definitely find a two bedroom place.

I'm not interested in a house, and the upkeep that comes with owning one

Never mind then. We don't look too kindly on condo folks here in Brookline.

Neighboring Dormont on the other hand: 187 Morrison Dr APT 3, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 is For Sale | Zillow

And in Mt. Lebo, I would this this is as close to your budget as you'll get: http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale...4_zm/?view=map

I'd look at a condo in Dormont. That's a safe, walkable community, and close to the city.
