Oh, and don't forget that your checked in luggage will likely be lost somewhere in the process.
I don't think the OP is in Pittsburgh.

I would take a connecting flight and fly. Time wise you might break even with flying to a larger city and then driving. But id rather not have to deal with the drive.

The only direct flights to Erie now are from Chicago, Detroit and Philadelphia. United dropped Cleveland as a hub and switched the flight to Chicago.

I'm not sure if this is directed at me but I'm coming from NC (see? under "location" in the top right corner?)

My company wants me to fly into Erie so that's what I'm doing, stopover in Detroit.

Thanks all!

EDIT: Neeevermind! Just read twingles' last post. From NC? I assumed you were coming from Pittsburgh because you posted in the Pittsburgh forum.

Why do you have to fly?

It's only a 2-hour drive from Pittsburgh to Erie. Straight north on I-79. Maybe 2 and a half with bad traffic or if you're leaving from south Pittsburgh. It's only 15 or 20 minutes longer to drive from Pittsburgh than it is to fly into Cleveland or Buffalo and drive to Erie.

If you have the option of driving, I'd just drive.

But if you have to fly, it's very slightly less of a drive from Buffalo to Erie than from Cleveland but as far as I'm concerned it's six of one, half a dozen of another.

Terribly sorry for not taking my time to study your profile in detail before responding.
Good luck.
