That is your response? Pitiful really, you should do some actual research. I can link you to hundreds of studies, but why waste my time?

We use a Brita filtering pitcher. With that being said we haven't changed the filter in months, and we use ice cube trays filled with tap water to produce our ice cubes. As such we probably drink a ton of "straight from the tap" water daily, and it seems to be okay.

Don't underestimate the power & influence of big fluoride to corrupt every government & reputable scientist on the planet.

I have a faucet mounted filter and I notice a definite "slimey" feel to the water if I continue to use a filter beyond its intended life. I'm not sure if it's really a health concern, but if I'm too busy to pick up a new filter at that point I'll drink tap instead. Hell, if I'm feeling too lazy to go downstairs I'll drink tap from the bathroom sink.

As far as taste goes, Pittsburgh tap water ranks pretty highly in my opinion. I wouldn't even have the filter if my wife wasn't a fanatic about not drinking straight from the tap.

Somehow, I doubt that.

If we're voting, I'd rather focus on the OP's question about yellow stuff in the water and no derail it with John Bircher nonsense. The water pipes and tanks here are old, but they can and will fix issues of sediment in the water if people complain.

yes, but in certain areas, it is very enriched. Which isn't always good.
