I live in point breeze and every now and then (more than a few times) the water from my tap comes out tinted yellow and letting it run won't always solve the problem. I once let it run for several minutes and it was still yellowish. The next day it was clear. What might be causing the yellow color? Any one on this board recently tested their water multiple times?

I keep thinking this city is contaminated and there's no way to avoid it and it seems it could be related to alleghenys cancer rates. Polluted lingering air, radon gas, possibly bad water....Do most people drink water from the tap or is that something to avoid?

Sounds like a problem within your home rather than a city water problem if your neighbors aren't likewise all complaining

You need to call PWSA and talk to people on your street. We used to have issues with rust. Enough people complained and they flushed out the lines or something. Anyway, it stopped.

Yes. I keep a Brita pitcher also, but I don't use it all the time.

Pittsburgh tap water is generally good for drinking straight from the tap. It is a lot better than other places that I have lived or traveled to.http://www.google.com/url?q=http://w...tm6HoDwLUE2u3A

Straight from the tap and on the rocks (also originally from the tap) for decades.
