Here are the high temperatures in Pittsburgh during the last eight days: 88°, 89°, 90°, 90°, 89°, 88°, 88°, 91°. Pittsburgh now has eight days of 90° heat this year, which is slightly below normal. Tomorrow is supposed to make it nine days, which would then qualify as near normal, since normal for a year is 10 days. If Wednesday turns out warmer than forecast, then Pittsburgh could end up with a 10th day of 90° heat, but we'll see. The weather will cool off dramatically late in the week, though, with low temperatures near 50° by the weekend.

Also worth noting is that Pittsburgh received 10.63" of rain between June 1 and July 15, with measurable precipitation on 27 of the 45 days during that period, but has only received 2.59" of rain since July 16, with measurable precipitation on only nine of the 54 days during that period. In fact, Pittsburgh has had two extended periods (of at least seven days) without measurable precipitation since July 16: 12 days from July 22-August 2, and nine days from August 21-29. Much of the Northeast has dried out considerably since mid-July.

Ready for this heat and humidity to end - can't stand it. Makes it very uncomfortable to be outside and doing anything that involves movement. I look forward to 70s with low humidity next weekend and for a nice crisp fall after that.

I demand clouds, drizzle, and a temperature in the mid-40s.

It might be soon, but unless it happens between now and lunch, it won't be soon enough.

It is neat, and it's pretty much the same each season (hot, cold, sunny, rainy, humid, dry, etc.) but we as a people never seem to tire talking about it. I am deep into middle age and have seen several score and some years of weather, and our office chatter still seems surprised that we have 90 degree humid days during the summer and bitterly cold snowy days in the winter. Yet it happens like clockwork every year.

Wait till the middle of January when someone posts something on here about how they are shocked at the fact that the city that they heard so many great things about is gloomy and cold in the winter. Like the Talking Heads sing "Same as it ever was" in the song "Once in a Lifetime."

Pittsburgh Predicted Interwebz annual weather discussion:

Be careful out there everyone! How are the roads? Are the roads "bad"? Why can't they plow my street? I am so sick of this cold. It was 2 degrees this morning at my place. I can't wait for some warm weather and backyard cookouts. This is the winter that will NEVER end. My lips are chapped. March should be warm! This spring sucks. Way too much rain -was never like this when I was a kid. I can't wait for some dry weather so I can do stuff outside. This summer will never end. Heat and humidity with no end in sight. I wish it would rain so my grass would green up. We need the rain! I can't wait for the cooler days of fall so I can break out my jeans and hoodie. Tired of cooking in the heat all day. Man I love October, but it sucks getting dark so early and what's up with the frost? So ready for winter. I just hope that we get some snow for Christmas; I love a winter wonderland and enjoy curling up by the fireplace with coffee and fresh baked cookies. Taking the kids sledding today. Absolutely beautiful outside!
