It's very very similar. But I like Texas chili so maybe I'm biased. It's a better place to take a group, or certain people who want a variety of food choices.

I certainly wouldn't see trashy hillbillies on the Northside and think, "they must be locals." Northside isn't really the sort of place the sleeveless t-shirt and camouflage baseball cap crowd choose to live.

Maybe not now, that the area has been gentrified.

But when the rooming houses on East General Robinson St. and the residences in the Garden Theatre block were teeming with bums, and the ARC House was in full swing, you'd see all types on the North Side. When I lived in Allegheny Center in the mid 90's, there were 2 dozen low brow establishments on East Ohio St. alone.

Opinions differ. I don't judge people by how they look. Bar patrons on the North Shore during a non event/sporting event are going to be locals the majority of the time.

I had Skyline Chili once in Naples, Fl. Not something I could eat every day, but pretty good once in a while.

Those places are tourist traps whether there's a game or not. Most locals are at their own local places.

Agreed...most locals don't head on down to Tilted Kilt for a cold beer after work on a Tuesday.

I used to work with a guy who was a total hound for the Tilted Kilt and went there nearly every night. He was from Greene County and stayed in a hotel on North Shore during the week.

Again, opinions differ. The majority of fans see them as a place to have a good time before, during, or after a game. Thankfully not everyone sees it the way you do as the city needs every dollar it can get.

If there's not a game, you're more than likely going to find a local patronizing that area. Otherwise there's barely a reason to be in the area.
