Pitt has been playing their games off campus for the past 15 years, a lot of fans and alumni miss going to the campus.

An old school stadium with traditional college style bench seating could help revive Oakland as well as the Pitt football program which won many championships when they played on campus.

Pitt playing at Heinz field is smart, and a good use of existing resources. Taking up that much space in the middle of dense Oakland for something to be used a handful of times a year would be ridiculous.

This^^^^^

Attendance over the years is higher at Heinz than it was at the old stadium.

If you win they will come...if you don't they won't, no matter where they play.

And significant programs, coaches, and "deals" bring top recruits, not stadiums.

Some feel Pitt having its own stadium would return Pitt football back to its glory days but unfortunately, it doesn't work that way...but I am curious to know how you would fund it and what else it would be used for?

I love that the Pitt students have a good reason to go downtown and to the North Shore. And the team is doing fine, honestly. In addition to a budget shortfall, the university has *classrooms* in serious need of renovation; I really hope that's the priority, not a new sports-related expense.

Students generally hate that they play so far off campus & having to go to the north shore for games (primarily because it limits the pre-partying at student housing as with other colleges) that being said, building another on campus stadium would be a waste & alumni prefer Heinz field. & realistically, alumni attendance is more important to pitt than student attendance.

When I was in school I would walk 10 miles to a party, I don't think Pitt playing at Heinz field has any effect on the students. Pitt needs the room for expansion more than it needs a stadium.

Pitt organizes buses and makes it pretty easy for students to get to games. Going back and forth on Pitt buses probably helps to keep any drunken and disorderly behavior before/after games to a minimum.

Maybe someday in the near future football will be seen as the brain-crippling activity that it truly is, and it will become less and less popular. As it is, we shouldn't be doing anything to further encourage it.
