Nope. I only post facts....and I'm certainly not in favor of anymore government involvement or paying for junkies to get off heroin or anything else. Enough tax $$$ is already wasted.

Now that IS funny.

Yeah, I guess I pulled that out as well. I guess my experience over the years with the pot smokers for the most part haven't done all that well, BUT some have. I don't know if there are actual health benefits or not to weed. I tried it but didn't inhale. Seriously, it wasn't something I liked much. Talk about having the munchies! Booze is my weapon of choice. I of course never drink too much, sort of like I never inhaled. Um...... well you know....

I wish pot was totally legal for those over 18. I wish the drinking age was 18 and if with parents no age limit. Ohio you can drink with a parent under 21.

Anyway medical pot is a step in the right direction.

I love watching posters complain about how much the cost has gone up since pot became legal. Like no one considered the government was going to get theirs.

Ironically, crime and the black market has increased in states, and border states, that have passed legalization.

I don't smoke pot not out of principal or belief, but mainly because i have kids and don't want arrested..
but i am a pretty casual person and i guess easy to spill to ..

i do know for a fact a ton more people than most 'non smokers' realize, smoke marijuana and go about their daily business with no one noticing. I'm talking 80 year olds i met walking the dog in the neighborhood to people that have held steady jobs, lawyers to concrete mixers, for decades.

yeah there are people that overdo it, and people that make it a 'statement' and you just know by a first glance but for the most part, your average smoker doesn't really abuse it.

Safak, marijuana is decriminilazed in Pittsburgh now! Toke away!
Pittsburgh decriminalizes pot possession | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Most of the pot-smokers I've known have been people with very important, stressful jobs. Doctors, lawyers, teachers, for the most part. Not when they're working, obviously, but as a way to wind down after work or when not on-call.

I just voted yes on that link and over 90% of the people agreed with the new law. That is a sign PA could legalize it. You know Philly would be on board, all we have to do is out vote the Alabama in the middle of PA.

Meh, a lot of it is grown in the Alabama, so I don't know that they would oppose it.

Semi-related note -- I didn't realize until a friend put it on Facebook today that OxyContin is available for prescription use for minors as young as 11; I guess the FDA approved it last year. That bothers me much, much more than pot legalization.

What a shame. I agree 100%, but not surprised at all. Drug companies are very powerful and the government can't go against big business. It is what it is. Too much money to be made.

Glad that it looks like medical mj will be passing, good for those "chronic" aches and pains.... Living in Seattle (before full recreational legalization), my impression was that it was pretty easy to find a doctor to give you a Rx; I think somebody set up a tent at Hempfest, in fact, doing quick interviews at $50 apiece and handing out cards. I'll be interested to see if they set more stringent requirements here (haven't read the bill yet.)

I honestly have no idea if full legalization is close or not in these parts; it does seem to be snowballing. REALLY wish the feds would finally reclassify it from Schedule 1, though. I was hoping that would be one of Obama's accomplishments.

Er? Why?

And I smoked weed all the time when I was a kid, and it wasn't legal.

And booze isn't legal for 18 year olds, either, yet, that doesn't seem to stop them from drinking.

Not following your line of thought???
