When there is a problem along my route, or when the bus needs to take a detour, seems to me like there should be a way to notify riders of the issue. For example, a rider signs up for text alerts for a specific bus, and when the driver reports a problem with the route, that message is relayed to people who are signed up so that we don't end up standing and wondering what is going on and if the bus will ever come. The real time tracker is not really a good indicator for this purpose, because the drivers generally turn the tracker off when there is a route issue.
