Oh please, everyone's offended at everything ... it was supposed to be taken figuratively, not literally...

Rush hour = Auschwitz, and it's okay because you meant it "figuratively"? Are you really this dense? (I guess that shouldn't be a question by now.)

I mean this literally, btw, not figuratively.

Evidence to support you claims on efficiency/reliability?

I've spent a lot of time on the Underground, and there's little worse than being crammed in full, non-AC carriages several hundred feet below the surface. In Summer or Winter. I've seen several people faint.

And no 24 hour ops is a curse for travelers wanting to get home after dinner/bars/clubs. It's ridiculous.

I never really noticed much in the way of major disruptions when I used it (& if there was a planned one, adequate alternative service was provided & if unplanned, multiple lines cover most areas anyways). Likewise, the night buses take up the slack after hours & with no traffic at those times they work just as well (plus 24hr lines are coming this year anyways.)
Yea, they can get crowded during rush hour but most robust transit anywhere does as well.

The quality of riders & cleanliness of trains/stations are miles better on the underground compared to NYC.
