Hello, I'm a little confused by the education benefits offered by Pitt. It seems that they pay 50% of tuition. Is this correct? If you want to message me or contact on this thread, that'd be great. thanks

Just 50%? Wow. It used to be more I think. I hope it is not 50% considering the salaries they offer people.

Depends on the program and if it's for you/spouse/children.
They pay 90% of the tuition, but in some cases it's a taxable benefit at a rate of about 36%. So after taxes they pay about 55%, the rest is your responsibility.

For the employee (not your kids), it's 90% of tuition, not including fees, for graduate courses. I think they pay more for undergrad. It was close to $500 for a graduate class last time I took one.

Are you getting hired by them? I am waiting the offer from HR and they are very slow. So how long did you wait?

It took my offer like three weeks to come through. My now-manager was very good at staying in touch and reassuring me that it was just Pitt bureaucracy, they hadn't changed their minds. But yeah, it can take forever, especially in the summer when people are on vacation.
