Fun fact-Pittsburgh was the first city I ever hailed a Lyft and an Uber in.
Three days, six Ubers in, no luck.

I haven't seen any of those self driving vehicles on the road this week. Maybe it's just me.

I know they said they were coming but did the actual rollout occur yet?

They're not giving rides to the public yet but they are out there. There is a big press event next week though, so I am wondering if that's when they'll start giving rides.

Official launch is today.

It looks like Uber still hasn't solved one of the big issues with self-driving cars - their LIDAR systems don't work in the rain or snow.

I received an invitation to be part of the pilot today. I'll post an account if I have the opportunity to take a trip in one.

The volume of global media attention this is getting is incredible. I'm in Asia at the moment, BBC Global aired a 10 minute segment on this which repeats every couple hours. The city looked great using stock footage. Google News returns links from media outlets in every corner of the world.
