I've never found Toronto to be dull, I've always have a great time when I've gone there. It is the closest large global city to Pittsburgh being only a 5 hour drive away. NYC is 6 and Chicago is a 7 hour drive from here.

But DC is only 3.5 hours from much of the Pittsburgh area. You can probably find everything there that you can in Toronto, except for the skyline.

I agree. It's def possible to leave work in Pgh on a Friday, get in late to Toronto, have all day Saturday and most of the day Sunday there, and be back in the office on time in Pgh on Monday.

Toronto Islands have no equivalent, that I know of, in DC.
Also hard to find a more fun hockey town!
