Le Mont on Mt. Washington will be recommended I bet. I personally think it's crappy, though.

I've been a few time. The food was hit or miss. It's very beautiful place.

I want to try this one Le Pommier

If you ever have the chance YOU MUST try the high Tea at the Omni William Penn Hotel. It is really nice and Tre Chic. It;s also a nice gift to give to someone.

Cafe Allegro is in the South Side, just off Carson on 12th Street. They have an eclectic seasonal menu of basically European style food, and an excellent wine list.

Legume is in Regent Square, on Braddock in the heart of Regent Square's "downtown" block. It is a bistro-style place with an ever-changing menu of French and Italian style dishes featuring what the chef finds in local farms and markets. It is BYOB.

Point Brugge Cafe is in Point Breeze at the corner of Hasting and Reynolds. They have a Belgian style menu and several Belgian beers available (some of which they cook with, in fact).

Casbah is in Shadyside/East Liberty on Highland just south of Penn Circle. They have Mediterranean/North African cuisine, again with frequent menu changes. They also have a very good wine list, including wine flights (allowing you to taste several featured wines).

Finally, Alexander's is in Bloomfield on Liberty a few blocks north of Baum. As I noted before, it is a little less upscale than the places above, but perfectly nice and my personal favorite Italian place in Pittsburgh. They are probably best known for your ability to design your own pasta dish, but they also have excellent appetizes, entrees, and desserts.

I've only been here six months so I'm sure I haven't ferreted all the best places, but so far...

Point Brugge for mussels (Point Breeze)
Tessaro's for burgers (Bloomfield)
D's SixPax & Dogz - great dive (Regent Square)
Casbah - upscale North African (Shadyside)
