Hello all, I'm still fairly new to Pittsburgh, I moved here in 2015. I'm a college graduate and I am currently working with my brother in his cnc fabrication shop in Point Breeze.

I'm also a church organist student and I am wondering if anyone can help me find access to any of the many pipe organs that exist in this city for practice time.

I am proficient in organ playing, I specialize in baroque repertoire and I fully understand the care and respect that is needed for pipe organs.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I know of two great old pipe organs (I'm sure there are more).

One is in the Calvary church in Allegheny West (the northside, near Heinz Field)
The other is in the Heinz Chapel in Oakland across the lawn from the Cathedral of Learning.

No idea what their policy is regarding folks using them for practice.

People just cannot walk in and start playing pipe organs.

OP, you say you are currently a student. Surely your instructor can help you with practices.
Also, volunteering to BE the church's organist will get you some time on one.
