Not sure you trust any media, right? I mean I'm not scared or concerned but I know you post a lot of fears and concerns you have.

Ah well, I explained in terms a 2nd grader could understand, so I can't really do more. Good luck.

Just saying there's really no reason to be so scared of your surroundings and so untrusting of the media.

My cycling style has changed and I leave more time to get to my destination so I can avoid as much interaction with automobiles as possible. It doesn't surprise me that death tolls are now through the roof now that everyone is fully addicted to smartphones.

Pedestrian deaths increase 22 percent in past two years across U.S. | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

No matter if I'm running, walking, biking, or driving an automobile, I just assume the minute that I leave home that no one is paying attention to what they are doing.

So true. I'd like to amend to that: "no one is paying attention to what they are doing and no one cares about the driving comfort of any another. Pedestrians within a crosswalk are considered traffic cones when there is no risk of liability to a driver - in other words, GUN IT!"

As a walker, the only place I have felt safe are the small rural tourist and college towns I visit on getaways. I have lost count of the number of times I have almost been hit, honked at, or cursed at for having the right of way on a cross walk in the city and walkable suburbs. I would hate to be a cyclist knowing that bike lanes are mistaken for HOV lanes all the time.
