Don't forget all the legal work supporting lease acquisitions and dispute resolution between companies and landholders, banking supporting companies growth through lending and personal finance of employees, plus EQT is downtown and has had massive growth. All those people have to live somewhere, so I think there was a significant level of effect on Pittsburgh real estate from the oil and gas boom.

Yes. I wasn't talking specifically about subsequent investments by Uber in the city.
My point was that this may deter other companies from coming to Pittsburgh, due to the shift in how Uber was treated by this administration. And Peduto turning on Uber came about by political grandstanding (his usual modus operandi) around the time of the taxi protests against Trump - not because Uber's CEO was a sexual sleazeball. This after Peduto tried to twist Uber's arm regarding the Smart Cities competition.

If I'm looking to open somewhere, I would be leery of the treatment my company may receive from the City of Pittsburgh/Bill Peduto after the initial honeymoon period wears off - I would consider investing in a safer location that was more business-friendly.

I am not sure that non-sleezeball companies are worried about how they are going to be treated, as the feel they are responsible corporate citizens. Uber did some pretty sh*tty things, and gets called out for it.

Uber has done many shady things though, they're not just getting called out for the hell of it. I really hope they can get it together though because I was pretty excited to see they were going to test the self driving cars here.
