I don't know if much will become of this, but I think people should know considering what happened in VA recently.

There is going to be some protest at Google Pittsburgh on Saturday August 19th at 1:00PM due to the firing of James Damore. It seems to be organized by Alt Right, but it is a little fuzzy. I don't think it will be well attended as the website is pretty weak at best, but still I think people should know because there has been violence recently. Take care all. Here are some links.

Pittsburghers tend to be on the moderate side of public protests and the like so I doubt it will be well attended here.

wow, and I thought the comments section in our local news sites were full of morons! I don't expect much will come of this, but if people show up with rifles it should be shut down immediately. ridiculous.

Soooo...there will be a public event of free speech? Don't like it just ignore it. I'm sure there are many other options for a sunny summer saturday.

And the news says that no one has applied for any protest permits.

I'm afraid to even click that link, especially since I don't want to give garbage sites the traffic they want. The most vile people of Western PA congregate on those local news comments here.

Not saying I agree with any particular viewpoint, but I want to point out that openly carrying firearms is legal within Pennsylvania (except within Philadelphia, where you need a concealed carry permit to be able to open carry).

In the context of what went on Saturday, and bearing the possibility of some sort of retribution for being trashed in the news, I'd think any neo-Nazis showing up with firearms ought to be detained immediately.
