Eleventh Hour Brewing opens on August 31st in Lower Lawrenceville: BREAKING: Eleventh Hour Brewing Opens Thursday, August 31st | Breaking Brews

Matt Hough is opening a brewpub near children's hospital on Penn Ave.

Helltown, previously mentioned is opening a second location on Penn also, but I don't know where or when.

Last I heard, Hough was looking for investors. I figured we would see some action at his location, but it seems dead so far. I'm not very optimistic about Hough's. I hope I am wrong, as that particular section of Penn could use some help.

Not a brewery, but Independent Brewing Company in Squirrel Hill usually has nothing on tap except for local breweries. This is a good way of sampling a lot of local beers without driving all across town. Plus sometimes they have the "nano-brews" like Costar that don't even have their own retail locations.

Yes, that's a cool place and their food (very small menu) is good, too.

Forgot to mention that Piper's Pub in the Southside has an awesome taplist and cask kegs. The food is tasty and it's a unique menu with vegetarian and gluten free options. I like it better than Fatheads

But they do that annoying thing of serving food on boards, not plates, which makes me go

I think this is worth a mention for sure. They are promoting local beer. Thanks.

Apparently renovating the original site in the MWS was too tough to pull off, but at least they are still planning to stay on the Northside. They do a lot of small events, and we like their beer, so we're looking forward to this.

This would have been the old Fire house on Arch?

Don't forget a Mead place will be opening in Spring Hill on site of former German Benevolent Union. It has a bowling alley.
