The airport near Tarentum has a shorter runway. At 3550 ft, it is too short for the long range corporate jets.
The airport can handle a 727 and a 737. I have seen both land there.

this may be true, but nobody knows the priority in which amazon is weighting these factors.

I'm betting on Columbus. Highway travel in Ohio is open, not much congested, pretty flat and easy. Still 3 hours to CMU grads. Are Vegas bookies taking odds?

Not sure, but the Irish are:

Amazon Betting

Needs to be updated in light of the short list. Atlanta went down from 2 to 1 to 3 to 1. Pittsburgh holding at 14 to 1. Looks like after an update, Pittsburgh's odds should improve considerably.

He's literally the richest man in the world. I wouldn't put too much stock in the location of one of his houses.

1. Aside from DC, they don't appear to be interested in a suburban location.
We see DC represented 3 times on the list because the list is a list of bids, not cities. In most cases a city represents a bid for the option of several locations.

Likely do to state politics, MD, DC, and VA bid separately. The DC area offers a lot so we are seeing all 3 bids on the list. Add to that "suburban" DC, particularly in nearby Northern Virginia offers some dense areas to set up shop, along with good transit access.

Re: Indy

Fountain Square is the other "hip" neighborhood and is much less removed from downtown. Mass Ave is also notable, though that may be considered part of downtown to some.

The 8 mile long cultural trail adds a lot to Indy's argument for being bikeable and walkable, too. I mean it's still a standard midwestern city, but toss in farther out neighborhoods like Irvington and suburbs like Carmel, and it's above Columbus in my view.

Indy's downtown circle and monuments etc are nice, but overall, I would put Columbus above indy.
