I know Pop City has been mentioned here before, but I just want to brag about the "Development News" portion of thier website. It is updated weekly and it gives news about what is coming to various neighborhoods, whether it's retail, dining, bars, office space, houses, medical, etc.

Here is the link Pop City - Development News (http://www.popcitymedia.com/developmentnews/default.aspx - broken link)

Enjoy!

Is POP an acronym? If so, what does it stand for?

I don't know -- population? It's a cool site and as I read it I was thrilled to see a few of my favorite words... "1950's space age era Googie style" in reference to a diner called Pamela's...

I just LOVE Googie..... and it's very hard to find that back there..... but that means there's HOPE!!! Ranch Retro ROCKS!

Sorry... get me on some of my fav architecture and design and I go all Heywood Wakefield on you...

Pop City - About Us: Pop City

Quote:
One of our first questions, beside what is Pop City, is why the name? It’s a nod to Warhol and the one-of-a -kind gem of a cultural institution that we point to often as a great Pittsburgh thing. People, places, things that make Pittsburgh pop. Plus we just love the sound of it. Pop Star. Pop Spot. Pop Filter. Pop! Pop! Pop!
