I don't see the Government doing that, at all. But, certainly the Government is allowed and does do so as a matter of policy and legislation!

I don't see the relevance of this to the 1st Amendment protections.

So?

Did the Google guy get fired for saying something against Google internal policy? Yes!

Does the NFL have a rule requiring players to stand for the Anthem with their helmets in their left hands? I believe it does!

Have people not for ages been advocating boycotts against commercial products for political reasons? They certainly have!

Why would it be unjust?

None of their 1st Amendment rights would be violated in such a firing. They could go out and protest to their hearts' content if they are fired.

Of course none of them will be fired, so, that point is actually moot and the criticism of Trump is therefore a bit of faux outrage, it seems to me.

Honestly, I am ambivalent about this issue, other than how it relates to the 1st Amendment and gives us a "teaching moment", as Obama used to say.

I'm a life-long Steelers fan... but, I couldn't care any less if any of these uneducated millionaire ball players are fired for violating NFL rules. People making much less money doing much less glamorous work are fired every day for violating company rules and or policy.

What makes any boycotter happy? Why is this particular issue more important than other incidents of boycotting?
