It's almost a guarantee that you'd save money by paying out of pocket for any preventative stuff and going to medexpress for most emergencies.
I would never get that policy in a million years; it is complete garbage.

I miss my old medically underwritten policy that had fantastic coverage for a fraction of what I pay now.

Dear Lord, I feel for you!

You might want to check out UPMC's policies. While not cheap, they are less expensive than Highmark's.

Of course, with the fractured marketplace, it might mean changing all of your doctors.

Well we all knew as soon as healthcare was mandated the prices would go through the roof. It is a plan just like when the government got involved with colleges and their guaranteeing student loans, so they could skyrocket tuition. Any time governments get involved in "helping the people", it screws us. I wish it would go back to people having a choice in coverage or not. Glad I got away with over two decades without insurance. That was one heck of a lot of money I saved. I can't imagine playing $800 a month for a healthy person. Stupid.

The people who want it are those who don't have to pay for it! Who is going to pay for it when nobody can afford it any longer?

That's the plan when I retire and move back to Pittsburgh.
