But no problem.

Pittsburgh airport, favoring local fare, to remove TGI Fridays, open Penn Brewery | TribLIVE

Penn Brewery will open there instead.

I wonder if the morons I saw in local news comment sections a few days ago will still be crying now that one of the replacements has been announced. Friday's is trash, won't ever eat there again, only place I have ever eaten in my where I didn't feel well after eating there. It happened more than once as well so I avoid it at all costs.

Oh hey, that's awesome for Penn Brewery! Great for them...there are so many new local breweries so it's good to see one of the classics expanding.

I bought a sandwich at the airport when I was traveling recently and was delighted that the deli was using bread from Breadworks -- any indication that local businesses are being made visible to visitors and newcomers is a great thing.

Excellent news! I'll be traveling back to Pittsburgh for the holidays, and PB will not be there, yet... but, they should be in when I get back again in May 2018!

I don't mind Fridays normally, but didn't care for it at the airport. Usually, I take what I can get while traveling. But, they had a limited menu which I didn't like. It was only good for a beer and a burger or some chicken tenders with fries. It won't be missed. Btw, I'm always shocked at how much better the pittsburgh airport is compared to others. I'm lucky I didn't starve in San Diego. They had nothing going on there. Minneapolis-St. Paul has very few restaurants, but relies on a weird convenience store thing at nearly every gate. Easy to get a drink and some chips, but not a real meal. Indianapolis has nothing at all in their airport. We're very fortunate with how many options we have and how easily everything can be accessed.

I'm not sure how much time you have spent in MSP, but I have spent quite a bit of time there over the past 18 months. That airport has some of the best restaurants and in greater number than any US airport. You just need to know where to find them.

There is a Dunkin’ near the exits to the ground transportation at Logan that is the saddest thing I have ever seen. The workers are miserable and it looks like a converted broom closet. Perhaps I am just biased to PIT, but some other airports options are pretty bad.

I've been to MSP many times, unfortunately. Maybe it does have some of the best restaurants around, but I shouldn't have to search for them. MSP has a mall just like PIT, but it's garbage. A passenger shouldn't have to walk for 20 mins to several different concourses just to find a chick-fil-a. They rely heavily on the grab-and-go stands and the limited restaurants they do have within a 10 minute walk are weird local places that nobody has ever heard of before. MSP can't hold a candle to PIT. Detroit has a nice airport, but very large.

So your complaint is that they don't have enough national chains you're familiar with within a ten minute walk of any given gate?

It sounds bad. Not a chik-fil-a mention on the list.

Do some of you regular flyers actually eat a heavy meal (burgers, etc.) during a trip??? I mean, you are confined in a vessel hurtling through the air, with no place to go....you know, gas and abdominal rumblings...
