Yep. I never understood all that prime real estate just sitting there empty for decade upon decade. FINALLY something is going to be built and it looks pretty nice. Certainly nicer than some empty gravel pit.

I hope it looks...impressive. If you travel to more cosmopolitan cities - their suburbs, like in Arlington County or Alexandria, VA, or in Jersey City, NY, have just incredibly beautiful, new, modern, dense residential developments WITH ACCESS TO TRANSIT!!! (the idea being to minimize commuting/car dependency).

Ours has the T, but that will have so little effect on total trips outside of daily riders going to work.

I wonder if this can evolve the T as we know it - more frequent trips on weekends, maybe a Station Square to South Hills Village express, etc...maybe a spur to this new development then down West Carson to a park and ride or something.....again, we dare to dream.

Whatever happened to the new apartment development along the T I think it was supposed to be in Castle Shannon? Haven't heard anything about it.

The one at saint Ann's is done, the one at South hills village is about 70% and the one at Mt lebo shops is still in design phase the last time I heard.

Shannon Transit Village Approved by Castle Shannon Borough Council

Approved by the Borough Council in May of this year.
