In light of this tragedy: Man Killed, Woman Critically Injured In Churchill Home Invasion « CBS Pittsburgh

I want a TOTAL ban on all solicitors in Churchill & Forest Hills. I've come across two different shady solicitors in those areas in the last few weeks.

One from an alleged energy supply company: "VISTA" and before that some contractors, trying to tell me that I had an old styled roof when I put up a brand new one not too long ago. The guy was stuttering and stammering. Both of these guys gave me the creeps and made me think they were casing the place.

So I've since contacted the Borough to complain about these guys. Maybe they're not connected to the recent deadly event, but now I think we all need to be super on-guard.

My township requires a permit to solicit door to door, I call the police to verify anytime someone rings my bell.

Although the neighborhood is quiet and safe, they say the house where the crime occurred has been a problem for some time.

One woman who did not want to go on camera told Channel 11 someone overdosed there not long ago, and others complained about possible illegal activities there.

Not sure why you’d think this has anything to do with solicitors, especially on a Saturday evening, but why answer the door if it’s not someone you know or are suspicious of?

This will likely be another case of repeat offenders with a stolen gun/s.

I believe Churchill is the same. You know what, I have now learned a lesson. Call the Borough police to verify....will do. Thank you for the tip!

Nah, these were solicitors that came by last week before the Home Invasion. I am hoping those "solicitors" that came to my door don't end up being implicated in the Home Invasion. There probably is no connection, but I'm suspicious. I was suspicious of those solicitors when they came by.

They won’t have anything to do with it. When this is all said and done it will be the usual repeat criminals we read about on a regular basis.

If you’re suspicious you shouldn’t ever answer the door to begin with.
