Why would they need to leak that if they are in negotiations with them then they already know this. That makes no sense to me. Sounds like something Paul Zeise would say without actually thinking about for 2 minutes.

he is the best on the fan (talks a lot of bball and football) put some respeck on his name, and his son is a LB for Pitt football

To put public pressure on them to up their offer. Irrelevant whether they know already or not. UConn with its 4 national titles would look like chumps missing out on their top coaching target and losing him to a winless ACC team.
