I ran across a post on CD recently where a poster from Pittsburgh said that "Pittsburgh natives hate going to Ohio" and they prefer the East Coast so I decided to go to the source, which is you guys. Now, I'm from Cleveland and I never heard people from Cleveland disparage Pittsburgh to my knowledge. The only thing I've Cleveland people just talk trash about the Steelers, and I don't know if any people from Pittsburgh disparaged Cleveland. Is it true that most people from Pittsburgh hate Ohio?

I think "hate" is a strong word here. As a native Ohioan, I have noticed that Pittsburghers do generally look to/travel to/associate with the East or MidAltlantic rather than the MidWest.

In my experience, no. There is a sports rivalry between Pittsburgh and Cleveland of course. A lot of Pittsburgh residents do get really unhappy if you claim the area is part of the Midwest. And on this particular forum we have a suspicious number of "drive-by posters" who claim to be former Pittsburgh residents who love Columbus, which leads to a lot of Columbus jokes. But in general people don't care about Ohio as a whole.

Personally, no. Outside of working with people based in Cleveland, I don't generally think of it all that much. My friends/family pull me more towards the East Coast so even though Ohio is 25 mins away I am more likely to drive to Philly than Ohio.

I said "hate" because of what that particular Pittsburgh poster said.

Saying someone hates going somewhere is not the same as saying they hate it. Maybe he just meant they hate driving on the Ohio Turnpike or something? Or don't like to go on vacation there?

Ever since Ameriflora ended, there's nothing to do there.

No, that poster said "Pittsburgh natives hate going to Ohio." Nothing about the Ohio Turnpike or anything that means that they've been there on an occasion or two and they hate they have to go again.
