well, yes, PNC is not the greatest bank. I had two issues with them:

- I paid with my debit Visa card for a car rental in Europe. I got screwed by the car rental company who kept my security deposit pretending I had an accident. In the dispute, although I gave them all the paperwork, car rental agreement, the papers when I brought the car back certifying there was just a hairline scratch on the fender, not a broken winshield, PNC said there was nothing they could do. Really? From now on I only pay with real credit cards for possible dispute situations.

- I once took a loan to buy a house. Horror story... at the closing we were sitting there waiting for the person from PNC. AT lunch time we went to eat while the real estate agents were talking that perhaps we weren't closing that day. It was a nightmare. AFter lunch someone was peppering me with questions about big items transactions on my bank statements. Really? Was this the first time that person was looking at my papers? We close at 4 PM, after spending the whole day in the office! This was 6 years ago, not that long. Later on I found out from a realtor friend this is what they do. PNC stand for "Perhaps Not Closing"

This is something I have also encountered and PNC seems to be very slow when it comes to wire transfers, ATM deposits, and refunding fees. I think the OP was referring to something similar to this issue and I am not sure why PNC is sometimes so slow in regards to crediting accounts.
