Some of the older plans have them. I know any new plan build in Cranberry will all be underground plus any new plan MUST have sidewalks. It's that urban creep.

I’ll take signs on telephone poles to the four or more calls a day from the house buying companies around here.

That too. Most flippers use cheap cheap and more cheap materials. A coat of cheap paint then ask 2-3x what they paid for it. Sorry, we ain't buying.

Or black out the "U" and the first "S" so the signs read "BUY MORE HOES."

In Philly, they recently had a program for community groups to get paid to tear down the signs. There will apparently be some sort of art project made out of some of the signs too. Would be awesome if Pittsburgh - a foundation, city, entrepreneur - would fund something like that.

Thank you for this. I would love to see the city start a program like this. Along with identifying the persons responsible for each telephone number and have them arrested and fined. Heavily. Name names. Anyone with ties to the mayor's office here? Now THIS would be a worthwhile effort to clean up our city. Thanks again.

I'm halfway with you on this one -- we did have a "we buy UGLY houses" sign placed on a telephone pole at the end of our alleyway a few months back, and I was mildly annoyed by it. I didn't necessarily need to take this implication from the sign, but I couldn't help feeling like they were saying we buy ugly houses like those around here. Sort of like if an employment agency put a "we hire cretinous workers" sign outside of your office. I didn't remove it, but it didn't last long.

On the other hand, there are some quality companies doing rehabs in Dormont, and one just hit (to my knowledge) a milestone -- a single family home rehab that sold for 335k:

It’s simply a gimmick. They’ve been around for decades and buy all houses no matter what they look like.
