Was home for a week, and we decided to visit where my favorite Aunt lived on Mt Washington. My memory was it was a large stone mansion. It’s neither large, not stone. It may have been insulbrick, it is now siding. The owners have really made the place very nice. My favorite was the parking chair in front.

Then it started to rain, so we bailed on the incline. When the three sisters get together it’s mainly chatter anyway. So Saturday, we went back to the incline again. We wanted to go on the Mon, because my parents lived with my Aunt for a bit and they took the Mon daily. And when rode the incline when we visited ur Aunt, we rode the Mon.

That line wasn’t too bad, considering it’s proximity to Station Square. But we went past the Duquesne and that line was through the doorway, into the skywalk, over Carson, down the steps and not a small way down Carson. It had to be at least an hour.

We also went into the Grand Concourse at Station Square. Our Grandfather worked on the railroad, B & O, and would take a stop in Pittsburgh, and Mom would bring my sisters down. My sisters have a lot of memories of the train station. My sisters are older than me and when I was the right age, Pap retired.

The restaurant was happy to let us in for a look see. My sisters were so happy reliving those moments.

It will be interesting to see what happens to it when UPMC takes over.

Also went on the T, to walk through Pittsburgh and to the Point, where we lucked out. The museum there had a computer outage, and they were letting people in for free. Nice little museum.

I still love coming home. And have to say, your food is way better there. Had dinner at my niece’s twice and nephew’s once, and at my cousin’s once, and your produce has real flavor. You’d think California would have decent produce, but we’re too entangled with big agribusiness. So our tomatoes are pretty, but taste like nothing.
