After nearly two yrs of living close enough to drive to Pittsburgh, I'm finally coming for a visit this weekend. I've read so much the past year or so on this forum and have noted all of your suggestions of things to do, places to see and food to eat.

I'll try and write later with my experience. I only wish I was coming in another week or two though, just so I can see the green hilly landscape. Oh well, gives me another excuse to come back, right!?!

Personally, I don't think Pittsburgh ever gets really brown, except maybe the trees. Every time I've been there the grass is green, the bushes are full and the trees, well, okay, maybe the trees don't have leaves, but the rest of the growth is pretty green! Maybe it's because I am comparing it to Phoenix, which is actually pretty green where I live, but I was always amazed by how green everything was still even in the dead of winter in Pittsburgh!

I agree. For example, there are a lot of evergreen bushes and trees in my neighborhood, and that keeps it at least somewhat green in the winter. But of course what happens in spring is the buds, and that has a very distinctive look (obviously more of a light green). And then the first bushes and trees bloom ... this is definitely a nice time of year.
